5 Simple Steps to Get 3x 5-Star Google Reviews in 30 Days
Google Reviews. They are the first thing your customers see when they look for your business. Even one bad review can be detrimental to your business, while a long track record of 5-star reviews can have business booming. Studies show that even a one-star increase in your overall ratings can lead to a 5 - 9% revenue increase. That's anywhere from an additional $5,000 to $30,000 in revenue per year - just for a one star increase!
So how can you improve your Google rankings and generate more reviews? It's easier than you think. I'll show you how you can triple your amount of reviews, increase your star rankings, and boost your traffic in under 30 days using 5 simple steps.
Step 1: Google your business
Type in your business name to Google. When your Google My Business listing pops up, click on your reviews.
Step 2: Open up your reviews
Click on "Write a Review" to open up the review box.
Step 3: Add a 5 to the end of the URL
Simply add the number "5" at the end of the URL after the last comma. Your URL should look something like this:
This will make it so that when anyone clicks the link, the 5 stars are already selected. All they have to do is write text or just hit submit!
Select all and copy the URL.
Step 4: Take a screenshot and hyperlink it in email
This step is a little trickier so I'll walk you through it in greater detail. But before I jump in, I have to point out that you do not have to do it this way. I've found that a blurred out screenshot and clickable images are the best way to send traffic to a Google Review, but you can keep it simple with just text, such as this:
Notice how just the text is hyperlinked. By the way, if you're not sure how to hyperlink an image or text in Gmail, simply highlight the image/text and click this little button next to the "Send" button:
If you want to up the anty and make it even easier for your customers to leave you a Google Review, take a screenshot of the review box, blur it out slightly, and write a call to action over it. As you can see in my example below, I chose the call to action "Click here to leave us a review for a chance to win a $25 Amazon Gift Card." This can all be done easily in Photoshop in under a minute.
Once you have your blurred out screenshot with your call to action, insert the image as an inline photo. Add your URL (the one with the "5" added to the end) by highlighting the image, clicking the hyperlink button, leaving the "Text to Display" box blank, and inserting your URL in the "Web Address" input box.
Step 5: Determine your prize and send!
This part's important. You should offer the chance to win a prize in exchange for a Google Review. Offering a prize provides extra motivation for action. It's a "You pat my back, I'll pat yours" mentality. You're asking your customers for your help - you should offer them something in return. It doesn't have to be an Amazon gift card, though this is one prize that pretty much anyone can get excited about. Who doesn't love an Amazon shopping spree?
Once you've got your prize figured out and have followed these five simple steps, you're ready to send! Ideally you should be using an email software platform such as MailChimp or ConstantContact with an ongoing email list of existing and past customers. But there's still hope if you don't! You can go through and send these emails one by one with whatever customer emails you do have on hand. Even just one 5-star review can have a huge impact on your business!
When your customer opens your email, all they have to do is click on the image or text and it will take them straight here:
And that's it! They don't even have to enter text if they don't want to. All they have to do is hit "Post" and voila! Your company has another killer 5-star review.
